Dr Iqbal was brought up and schooled in Glasgow. He trained at Aberdeen Unversity, graduating in 2002 before staying on to work at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and train as GP. He joined the Denburn medical practice, as a partner, in 2012 and has special areas of interest in substance misuse and unscheduled care. Dr Iqbal is a GP trainer and also works part time at the Aberdeen Health and Social Care Partnership as a clinical lead.

A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing.
